Travertine Pool Decks & Patios in Phoenix, AZ
Natural travertine pool decking, patios and stepping pads, installed for Arizona sun, pool chemistry and the way you actually use the space.
Why Travertine
A Natural Stone Made for Pool Decks
Travertine is a go-to for Arizona pool decks because the light, neutral tones look right in the desert and the stone has a more comfortable surface in strong sun than many darker finishes. Finish, color and edge details change the look a lot, so we help you pick them with the home and pool in mind.
Pool decks also have real requirements: grade away from the pool and the house, expansion and control joints in the right places, and a surface with enough grip when wet.
- Slope and drainage planned before stone is set
- Pool coping and deck transitions detailed cleanly
- Travertine patios, stepping pads and walkways that tie the yard together
- Turf and planting strips coordinated with the stone layout
- Sealing recommendations for the finish you choose

Common Questions
Before You Call
Does travertine get hot?
All outdoor stone gets warm in Arizona summer. Lighter travertine finishes generally stay more comfortable underfoot than dark surfaces, and finish choice matters. We can talk through options for your pool.
Does travertine need sealing?
Sealing is commonly recommended to help protect the stone from staining and pool chemicals. We will go over the right approach for your finish at the consultation.
Can you tie in turf and a pergola?
Yes. Many of our pool projects combine travertine with turf strips, stepping pads, shade structures and fire features so the whole yard reads as one design.
